IGNORE THIS UNLESS YOUR THE PROFESSOR

The new, slightly modified target audience for the site is community leaders for different hobbies and games. Many people do not have access to the developed, competitive grass roots scenes I was blessed to have access to by living in a high population density area and instead are forced to start their own or simply quit. A shocking number of people are willing to put their pride and money on the line and try and host their own events. However, they tend to get caught up in big picture things (or community crowd-sourcing) and overlook or mess up the minutiae of the event. I look to provide general advice on running small (generally <30 entrants) local events for competitive hobbies, with a focus on fighting games and trading card games.

These local leader can be anywhere in the world but I assume they will usually be people living in areas with less population density like a small college town where the likely hood of a local scene already existing is slim. While the challenges these events will face later on are very different, the issues they would have when starting up tend to be almost identical which I why I am comfortable lumping them together.

Right now, I do not believe anything from the readings on fair use effect my website since they are all pre-approved by WordPress. I am sure that later on when I start adding my own images I will need to make sure I am using things that are at a minimum approved for non-commercial use. However, since this blog is currently only being used for educational purposes and I will not be using full clips that are not approved and only small images I am unlikely to get in trouble since “a court has ruled that a “thumbnail” or low-resolution version of an image is a lesser “amount.” Such a version of an image might adequately serve educational or research purposes” (Columbia University Copyright Center).
